  • Total War: ATTILA Review

    Total War: ATTILA Review

Let's talk about the elephant in the room and get it out of the way before we begin with Attila. Rome 2 was a disaster. Almost everything about it was terrible. The music was so poor that it sucked the life out of the game (not that there was much life in it to begin with mind you). There was no family tree. The politics system was neither politics nor a system, it was an afterthought that made no sense and had no impact on anything. Your generals and "family members" were faceless pawns...

  • Dying Light Review

    Dying Light Review

Dying Light, developed by Techland and released on 27 Jan 2015, is an open world zombie survival game with a heavy emphasis on parkour which, for those of you who are not sure, is basically jumping from one rooftop to another until you break something. Parkour is unusual for a zombie survival game but is incredibly useful in Dying Light. There are all kinds of goodies hidden on rooftops and the majority of zombies you're dealing with in the game are the traditional slow and mindless variety, not...

  • Tropico 5

    Tropico 5

    First there was Tropico.
Then there was another one of it.
Then there was a 3D one of it.
Then there was another one of that.
This is another one of the 3D one.
Now I would imagine that most people who have rad this far will know that Tropico is amoderately amusing city builder / dictatorship simulator with a distinctly caribean flavour. And most of them will have at least tried one of the prequels, and yes to use a rather obvious cop out, if you liked...

    Borderlands

    Gamers!
Now I hope you are all proud of yourselves!
Collectively, as a group, you should hang your heads in shame!
Do you see the damage you have wrought? With all your #gamer gate conspiracy nonsense and shameful painting of Social Justice Warriors like myself as professional victims actively seeking out anything to be offended by and to morally rally against, when we simply want to improve society!
    To make the world a...

  • Wings: Remastered

    Wings: Remastered

The problem with nostalgia, is that there are not enough good jokes about it. Oh sure, there’s the “It’s not like when I was a kid” but everyone and their Gran uses that one in retro gaming reviews. Clearly what the world needs are more good jokes about nostalgia, because with the increasing number of retro games that are being “remastered”, it looks like we are going to need them
Harking back to the days when all a computer game needed to do to be described as “cinematic” was...

  • Rise of Nations... greatest real-time strategy game ever?

Rise of Nations... greatest real-time strategy game ever?

Out of all the strategy games I've ever played (and there have been a lot) Rise of Nations gave me the biggest challenge and the most fun gaming session in a RTS that I've ever experienced.. I played on a medium sized map against an AI opponent. I was Russia, the AI was Germany. The game mirrored the Russian-German conflict of World War 2 with 100% accuracy. I set the rules so that combat would not start until 1 hour had passed, giving me time to build up and prepare for the...

    JackRabbits Shameless Content Push.

Rise of Nations, released over a decade ago (arn't we getting old!) it managed to expertly merge the scale of the Civilisation games with the action, excitement and speed of a traditional RTS, and whilst its currently available on Steam for £3.74, you never know, some kindly associate might buy the 4-pack and hand out copies for free.
Unfortunately for you lot, that kindly associate isn't me, I want you to dance for your "free" game!
    So in a shameless...

So EA's perennial uphill task to provide a counter to the market dominance of Steam continues and this blue moons (Bit harsh. EA do give these away fairly frequently to be honest) free golden oldie is ...... Ultima III - PAGAN (for those didn't see the picture)
    Of course, it requires origin.
    But it is FREE.
Not that anyone would buy such an old game anyway.

The 90's were great wern't they. Some of the best games created in that decade. Thief, Alpha Centauri and Sim City. All suffered from abominations of re-boots over the last year.

So it was boud to happen one day. I bought something and then found out I already owned it!.
    Don't I feel stupid.
So there you go. I'm not saying what it is, though I would ask that whoever succesfully activates it lets everyone know.
