So the Bards Tale kickstarter (currently standing at 1 140 000 of its 1 250 000 target with 30 days to go) have announced that anyone backing over $20 will be given standalone emulated versions of the first three games (I.E, The Bards tale, The Bards Tale II and The Bards Tale III, NOT the not all bad but ultimately rather forgettable Bards Tale from 2004).
Whilst I certainly could not, in all conscious, rave about these games to anyone who has never played them (they are older than several of the members of this site!) I do still actually play them occasionally ( I think I last played The Bards Tale II in 2011)
It should also be noted that Evil Empire EA have apparently released the games for this purpose for gratis.
    So that's good too.
And remember, you heard this HERE first!
PC Games Community, first for all your Bards Tale News (mostly).

(Look, you don't want Bards Tale, write your own Drokkin content!)

And with "Ban this sick filth" clearly being "click bait" we can truly claim to be a professional gaming site!

Hooray! We've made it to the top! Now we contact developers and ask them to send us review copies of upcoming games. Then we give them epic reviews to make sure we keep getting free games from them in the future!

Last Year we were mostly playing

And here we are again, another year closer to annihilation and the nothingness which follows, and all we can do is stand around remarking on how fast the past year has gone whilst wondering if next year will be faster (It won’t be, though the year after will be slower if that is any consolation to you).

However these musings are not why we are here, indeed we gather to answer a far more important question. In the year of Russian poisonings,...

    At Christmas

I know, I know, I’m very late and your enjoyment of the festive season is incomplete until you have seen the problems of the rich and infamous solved.

After all, if you are not famous, then you are simply not as important.

    Dear JR,

On the feast of Stephen, I was looking out on the landscape presented in what can only be the fundamental Christmas gaming experience, Frostpunk,...

I know, I know, It's been a while since I have had the time to spare helping the little people of the online world in their various problems, but now that what shall be known as "The Summer of Weddings" is over, I can get back to spending my time as the altruistic saint that I am.
I hope you are all eternally grateful.

    Dear JR,

Well I’ve recently found myself with a surfeit of spare time, and so in contrast to the wonderful weather...

Do you wanna build a post apocalyptic city set in the aftermath of an unknown worldwide calamity which has plunged the world into another ice age?

    C’mon let’s go and play.

Frostpunk is a small scale city builder with a steampunk aesthetic.

Starting with a small band of survivors, you must forge a path in this increasingly hostile environment to ensure the survival of mankind, well for approximately a month. Apparently that’s all the time you need to...

Well here in the UK, as winter throws one final attempt to solve the pension crisis at us (claims that the government have know for a month about the cold snap, but saw it as an opportunity to cull old people remain unsubstantiated), many have retreated to the warmth and safety of their gaming systems to keep them distracted, and hopefully prevent excessive burden on maternity services up and down the country come November.

And, of course, more gaming means

    Civilisation VI
    Rise and Fall.

Accurately reviewing big budget high strategy games is hard.
Well it’s not digging coal out of the bowels of hell hard, but it certainly ranks up there with flicking yourself off to Holly Willoughby after you have packed the kids off to school.
These games take a huge amount of investment in time even to scratch the surface, and flaws can go completely unnoticed for weeks until one day you suddenly notice the AI is fucked and
