Love.
Love is in the air, you can barely log onto any media outlet without some saccharine effusion espousing the joy and fulfilment that can be found in the cultural institution of two people “finding” each other, and where the zeitgeists leads, the people will follow, and it’s no suprise that my inbox is filled (FILLED) with all sorts of romantic gaming conundrums.
Now logically you might think that the answering of such problems might be more suited to February, but love is a burning issue, and don’t forget these are REAL people with REAL problems! And it would take a far crueller rabbit than myself to leave these hopeless romantics foundering for three months.
Dear JR
I’m playing through Dragon Age as a Human rogue/Bard, and started the romance plotline with Zevran, the powerful Antivan Crow. It all went really well and now he dotes on my every word and we do make a good team on the battlefield, but I’ve just discovered that Alistair is not the pauper failed Templar that I thought he was, but a prince of the realm and the heir to the throne!
Is there any way I can divorce Zevran and hook up with my one true love Alistair instead?
Yours desperately

What a stud
Well Megan,
Alas Dragon Age is very strict in it’s enforcement of romantic declaration, I suspect this is due to the overwhelming influence of the Chantry. However so long as you have not progressed too far down the romantic path with Zevran, you may still pursue Alistair. If you have made the final declaration though, even should Zevran suffer an unfortunate fatal combat injury (such as stabbing himself in the back with a giantsword) Alistair will remain off limits.
Dear JR,
I’m a retro gamer and absolutely love games that came out decades ago, the older the better. Not for me the flashy 3d graphics card requiring realistic physics of modern games. Nope, I feel that games that came out in the 80’s and 90’s are far more mature and engaging than modern attractive but ultimately vapid and shallow graphics fests which modern games seem to concentrate on.
Are there any games that you might recommend for me?
Yours

I hear she started off as a drama teacher.
Well Emmanuelle, have you tried Revolution Software’s 1992 point and click adventure game “Lure of the Temptress”, I suspect it might be right up your alley and is free on GOG.com, which is a cheap and easy way in which to find plenty of ancient “classics” to sate your particular fetish.
Dear JR
