Emilia Clark is a terrible actress anyway. She is terrible in Game of Thrones, Daenerys was one of my favourite characters in the book, in the series she is all eyebrows (seriously have you seen her eyebrows?) and so dull and over acted I actually wish a Dragon would eat her. She is pretty though, I give her that. I actualy seen a porno once with a girl who looked identical to her getting double teamed by two black guys.

I watched Terminator 3 today. Previously I thought it was "meh" and unnecessary. After Salvation and Genisys T3 can now be considered a good film. The last two were so bad they actually bumped it up. How cool is that? It makes sense too. They destroyed everything related to Skynet in T2 (or at least they thought they did) thus stopping Judgement Day. But obviously other people worked on the Skynet thing, not just Miles Dyson, so even though he was the lead researcher and the main man and he and all his work were destroyed, other people on the team obviously carried it on, so Judgement Day was only delayed, not entirely stopped. It makes sense that such a program would be very important to the government, so they would obviously want the team to carry on. They'd just find a new lead. So even though they no longer have the chip from the first terminator or all the research data Miles Dyson did on it, they still succeed in creating a piece of extremely advanced AI that is capable of being in control of the defence of the USA (or so they think). Except it's programmed wrong and decides humanity is the biggest threat to humanity (which is ultimately true).

Salvation is still utterly awful though.

Oh salvation is not that bad.
True it too lacks the intelligence of T1, and has a rather unfortunate amount of bobbins in it, like the pilot deciding to ignore years of training to break a terminator that she just met out of prison, John deciding to drop into the ocean (though this might be an indication that he thought he was immortal until he sends Kyle back through time)and especially the ending (Though that's mostly because they re-wrote it due to unfavourable testings)
But at least it has a level of imagination and spectacle (the giant robot, the motorbike chase).
Genysis just thought it could coast on its two shock twists.

Nah man you're crazy and high on crack and also mentally unstable. Salvation was awful mainly because we expected it to be about the resistance fighting Skynet but it turned out to be about some guy who got the death penalty and got turned in to a terminator... with a little resistance vs. Skynet on the side. Additionally:

Christian Bale sucked as John Connor (he wasn't even in command, he was a lieutenant who nobody liked)
About half way through it got confused and thought it was a transformers movie (the big robot and the biker robots)

And Genisys's shock twists weren't "shock" twists, they were just bad twists. A shock twist is when John McClaine turned out to have been a ghost all along in Die Hard 2, or when that guy turned out to have been the boss in Office Space but his split personality made him think he was two guys who liked fighting and stealing staplers. A bad twist is when you find out John Connor created Skynet all along. That just made me roll my eyes and leave in disappointment.

Just because something is not "what people expected/wanted" does not make it bad.

            Oh

            SPOILERS
Not that anyone else is going to make the mistake of watching it.

And as Genysis has shown, if the franchise needs to expand and include new characters if it wants to continue to exist and grow it needs to create new characters
            Spoiler:
(though having John as the creator of Skynet would not have been SOOOO bad, if he did it having realised that his entire existence depends on Skynet existing and so he travelled back to do it whilst being human)

Yeh, watching a convicted murderer who had no sympathy for anyone but himself become firm friends with Kyle and his diversity accomplishing sidekick was stupid, but then considering he was unknowingly following his programming just goes to show how clever Skynet was!
Anyway just put 3 on, and am immediately struck that the very idea of having an attractive female terminator is moronic.
Attractive females draw attention to themselves. Terminators are supposed to be infiltrators, they should avoid attention.
Then it strikes me, having a giant mountain of a man as a terminator is equally moronic.
They should have had Lance Henriksen play him from the outset!

And Ive just watched T3 again.
Its fucking aweful. Far worse than salvation.
Terrible acting (other than Claire Danes, though she isn't given much more to do than run and scream) a terminator that doesn't so much act like a machine as it does a sexy woman and so much idiocy you have to question how no-one spotted it (the Terminatrix showing its true self BEFORE it shot up the military base, Arnold driving a truck OVER Claire Danes, who he is supposed to save etc etc etc.
Other than the ending, which is probably just about perfect (and also why people forgive its crappitude)
Still not as bad as Genysis though.

What could be good, a Skynet civil war.
Terminators are programmed to fulfil a task, imagine if Skynet downloaded itself
                Spoiler:
(as it seems to have done downloading itself into Mat Smith)
into a terminator who it sent back through time.
This skynet, being exposed to different influences than the original Skynet comes to a different conclusion as to the destiny of humanity and opposes the original Skynet, not because its been programmed to, but because its decided to (akin to T2 where Arnie "learns the value of life")
THAT could be intellectually, visually and culturally stimulating.

I preferred Terminator when it was about a killer robot from the future trying to kill a woman and her son, now it is probably just social commentary about something.

Is typical of Hollywood, take something fun and a bit different and try to expand it and turn it into something it never was. Just leave it alone. But like I said, I like them for what they are but it is like going from one good MTV channel that plays music videos into a network that plays all sorts of shit reality TV and little music.

A reason I am glad then never made Bill and Ted 3.

They have been saying that for 15 years. If they ever did get around to it, it would suck. It was great at the time 90's jokes for a 90's audience. Music and rock was fun back then, it just wouldn't work in this day and age. It will be the Duke Nukem Forever of films.

keanu reeves has finished a script for it recently and it is meant to show them trying to cope after the future they saw didn't happen.

Keanu wrote this version? Oh dear. Actors writing their own films never ends will. Alex Winter would have been a better choice as he has experience in writing and directing. As much as I love the originals I hate so say, I am 99% sure a sequel will suck.

It has been a while since I watched it but Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles did something similar to this (a kind of Skynet civil war). It wasn't a Skynet civil war as such, rather a group of terminators that believed the world was big enough for Skynet and human beings and that they could work together and achieve great things. They had formed their own little group and were working against Skynet (though John and Sarah never trusted them) to prevent judgement day.

I tried watching the Connor Chronicles again the other day but I couldn't get past episode one. The CGI is quite terrible (it looks like one of those B movies that goes straight to TV, like Titanic 2) and some of the lines are very badly cheesy. Like the terminator at the start. When he's posing as a school teacher and he reads John Connor's name off the register, then cuts the gun out of his own leg and starts shooting at John. Just before he leaves the classroom he turns and says "class dismissed" with a smirk on his face.

Come on. Why would a terminator do that?

so watched this (gotta love the Koreans)

all in all it was a pretty craptastic film, the first part of it was all just pure fan service, it was full of rather large parts where the film just stalled and got boring. the sad fact is the only thing good from this film was actually Schwarzenegger and his one liners and attempts at "being human" and it really comes to something when the best part of the film is him.

all in all I would rate it 5 and a half beers out of 6, that number would have been lower (lower is better) but I found the film that dull I just kept going to get another beer, hell it was that bad I even paused and went for a beer during the bus chase on the bridge. so yeah it was a pretty craptastic film and even 11 units of alcohol couldn't resolve that problem.

but it's still early so now I have to go onto the whiskey, stupid ass film, really glad I never went to a cinema to watch it I would have probably fell asleep.

also why the fuck did they keep going on about judgement day in 1997, when that was stopped and it didn't happen till 2004 in terminator 3 or are they just ignoring terminator 3 (obviously not since he becomes a TX at the end) but even then in Terminator 2 they stopped judgement day (before 1997) and it didn't happen or come even close to happening till about 7 years after so why were they pushing for 1997 when if you follow the film time line nothing ever happened then.
