but that's the thing in early WoW elitism was worse than it is now, it was a massively toxic player base (it still is and that is why it is failing with social content) but the only reason some people were better back then is they had more time to grind, nothing really had a skill cap the entirety of vanilla and the majority of TBC was entirely gear capped, once wrath came along they killed the grind, so those with the ability could fly through the content faster, so people moaned it was easier, but the fact was the fights were more technical, people just got through them faster as they didn't have to spend weeks/months grinding certain gear for 20-40 people, then do attunements and start the gear grind again every time they lost a player and had to replace them.

the only thing that made wow content go quicker is all the fights can be played on test servers weeks before they go live, data mining now exists when back in the day thottbot and the likes were the best you had, there was a massive amount of attunement and gear grinding to gate content and a massive number requirement causing difficulties even getting that many people together, so in vanilla the content wasn't difficult or challenging, it was just logistics artificially lengthening the content, if that was done now in a game it would fail hard and is WoW hadn't got rid of that type of content it would have likely been on a much lower sub count than it is now.

haha the floating ship was a brilliant bug, it ended up in Stonetalon Mountains once.. what the fuck was going on there haha.. The loot bug was a common one where you bend down to loot a corpse and remain in that position for ages without even looting anything.

the vanishing ship/zeppelin was always fun, was playing a paladin for a while and you could guarantee you always got dropped in the fatigue zone, but it turned out you could buble fatigue, so it use to piss my mate off no end when I swam back to shore safely while he died.
